Life is short
Art has not always been my top priority but it has always been a thought in my head. I grew up in Clinton, NY in the 1990's and went through grade school there. I decided to study art in undergraduate school and chose RIT and then New England College where I completed my BA in Fine Art. I was also fortunate enough to have interned at Munson Williams Proctor Institute of Art.
Art to me is a challenge. It is a test to see if I can satisfy the critic inside. Art is a roadtrip not a flight. A painting is filled with bumps, crashes, drive-by shootings, empty tanks, open roads, sunny skies, city blocks, honking horns, pit stops and the culture of every place between the beginning and the end. You can look at a work and see what you want but never fully realize the painstaking path it took to get there which is the guts and glory of a painting.
